if some of the air molecules are not colliding with the air molecules ahead them then how are the molecules present ahead are getting compressed?
That is a great question! Of course, you are correct. The only way for air molecules to affect other air molecules is to actually bounce off of them.
To simulate all of those collisions would take significantly more computing power than we have available in a web browser. What you see here is the net result of all of those collisions, with particles moving back and forth over time.
