Beat Patterns is a simple simulation of two tuning forks, each attached to a resonant wooden box to naturally amplify the sound. When each fork is struck, it emits a certain frequency. The frequency of each fork can be changed by adjusting a metal slider up and down.
If you play both tuning forks at the same frequency, the result is simply a sound that is twice as loud. When you play the tuning forks at slightly different frequencies, watch as the characteristic “WAH-oh-WAH-oh-WAH-oh” sound of beat patterns emerge!

Love your sims! I don’t quite get this one, however. Is there supposed to be a sound when the tuning fork is struck?

Thanks for the kudos!
Unfortunately, I couldn’t get sound working the way I wanted to on all devices (iOS only allows playing one sound at a time) so I decided to skip sound in the simulation. The expanding and contracting “visual sound waves” do adjust their frequency appropriately, but that was the best I could do without having the simulation produce actual sound.
